Explain Me This..
I got a comment on an instagram post today. It was from Jeanne Crain’s granddaughter. Her comment was very racist and disrespectful to Jewish people. I am part Jewish, so this comment was really an eye roll for me, as I have come across things like this before. Am I tired of it, you bet, but will it ever go away? Probably not.
It made me think of two sets of siblings, both which the brothers lost their lives.
The HOLOCAUST, not the Holohaux ( as she referred to it as), WAS A MURDEROUS EVENT, NOT ORGANIZED BY JEWISH BANKERS, as she seemed to think it was.
With all that is known about the Holocaust, there are still dumb people such as her who know absolutely nothing about it. Jews were the victims, not the perpetrators.
When I talk to survivors, they are hit with the whole “The Holocaust Never Happened”, etc. I ask how do they deal with such asinine remarks?
I will quote my friend and Holocaust Survivor, Peter Feigl.
“Well, there are many answers to this. The answer that I like best of all, is that are 85 million German citizens nowadays. They have been paying restitutions since the 1950’s and they’re being taxed for it annually and they spending a lot of money in maintaining the death camps for the world to see what happened, they have monuments. They have reminders all over Germany, if you travel there. In the middle of Berlin you come out of the subway station, there’s a big sign, places never to be forgotten, list of all the concentration and death camps. So why on earth would they be doing this? We Americans are all taxpayers, we all complain about it. I guarantee you if there was some way of denying it, they would have done so and they would have stopped contributing.”
But to me, there is SO MUCH EVIDENCE, the evidence being with the people and with the survivors. I really doubt they would make this up. How could you make up a place like Auschwitz? IT IS STILL STANDING!
Now, which brings me to Petr and Otto. They mean the world to me and I am currently working on a research book on the Wolf Siblings, Kurt, Otto and Felicitas. I have written about both Chava and Petr in my book Among the Many (out now!). I tried to think of this event from their perspective. Many Jews such as them, lost their entire families, and what do ignorant people say? “Oh this didn’t happen.” Then HOW IN THE HELL DID THEY LOSE THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS?? HOW DID THEY DIE? DID THEY JUST DISAPPEAR? WHERE DID THEY GO? They are not alive anymore. When Chava was 14, she lost her brother, Petr to a gas chamber. Petr was KILLED, MURDERED, DESTROYED. YOU CAN’T DENY HE’S DEAD. But people like to call Chava a liar, this is where I step in and call THEM on their Bullshit.
Clearly Crain’s granddaughter is an Anti-Semite, for she went on explaining that JEWS were the enemy and how we are Atheists, and such. I would post the comment, but it’s not worth the time and effort. CHAVA IS NO LIAR. The EVIDENCE OF HER BROTHER’S DEATH IS RIGHT THERE. Chava lost Petr and her family WAS FOREVER CHANGED. YOU TRY PUTTING YOURSELF IN HER PLACE. She nearly starves to death in the Terezin Ghetto, (which is still there in Prague by the way), and she looses her brother, because he was on the deportation list. She had to GROW UP WITHOUT HIM. She got MARRIED WITHOUT HIM BEING THERE. She had CHILDREN AND HER CHILDREN NOT KNOWING Petr and you’re going to deny he even existed? What kind of idiot do you have to be to deny someone’s existence, because you don’t understand the way they died?
Germans MURDERED JEWS, not the other way around.
Chava’s parents were at a loss. They tried not to talk about Petr, for it made her mother cry and it was very painful for them. But Chava did not let her brother’s death be in vain, she talks about him and even published his diary.
Felicitas on the other hand, had a more painful experience. She lost BOTH OF HER BROTHERS during the Holocaust. One brother, Kurt died in battle fighting against the Germans, and the other, Otto, died simply for existing, no other real reason for his death.
Felicitas became despondent for many years and had a very difficult time trying to cope with their deaths, particularly Otto’s. Otto was close to Felicitas and was with her for most of their life in hiding. Otto almost made it, but he was murdered before he could turn 18. IF YOU ARE GOING TO SAY FELICITAS IS LYING TOO, I WILL COME IN AND DEFEND HER. First off, THERE IS EVIDENCE OF KURT IN THE ARMY and there is A MEMORIAL FOR THE 23 MEN MURDERED, THAT INCLUDED OTTO. So if Otto didn’t exist, then why the HELL is he on that particular memorial? After Otto died, his mother, became so deathly ill, she could not talk about either brother again. She was paralyzed from the stroke that came because of hearing the news of both of her precious son’s deaths, which she got on the SAME DAY.
Otto was murdered because he refused to give the Germans any information on what they wanted or where his family was. He was a BRAVE BOY, who WAS MURDERED. There’s no way around it.
Otto’s story ended at 17, but his diaries still exist, so if he didn’t exist, then how could his diaries still be around? That’s right dumbass, he existed. He was a REAL BOY. He HAD FEELINGS, FEARS and DREAMS. But those aspirations were DESTROYED when he was MURDERED.
Felicitas, unlike Chava, who spoke about Petr, did not speak about Kurt or Otto. She was haunted by Otto’s spirit and she had a hard time trying to adjust to their absences. She had to try to go on with her life, and rebuild it, without her beloved brothers. She couldn’t hold onto Otto’s beloved diaries any longer and gave them to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC. THERE, his words will remain.
Both Petr and Otto were just in their teens when they died and for what? Because they were Jews and existed. That’s plain and simple.
Crain’s granddaughter needs to talk to some survivors and THEY WILL TELL YOU WHAT REALLY HAPPENED. If you disregard them, then don’t talk to us, just have your own wrong opinion to yourself. Oh and Crain, GO DO SOME F0CKING RESEARCH.
