If you have read the full story of Alisha — You’ll read the FULL story of this girl, who sadly was murdered in 1948 by a Priest.

The thing that really intrigues me, is some of the details in the story.

One: My grandpa NEVER refers to the Priest by HIS FIRST or LAST NAME- Only by “The Demon”.

He never reveals his name, and I think I know why.

The Man Who Murdered Her Was A Priest

This could have caused an uproar in the precious Catholic Church.

My grandpa couldn’t have cared less about the Goddam Catholic Church, he couldn’t care what they would do, but they would cover it up and make it look like this priest wouldn’t kill anyone. The Priest did. The problem that in the 1940’s, some of the Priests were very corrupt and got away with horrendous things and abuse- and sometimes some of these Priests were interested in people who were younger than them. The priest that killed Alisha, was about 19 years older than her, In the story- Alisha thinks the Priest was 34, in reality he was 38, so that meant he was in his 40’s when he murdered her, which makes this even worse.

My Grandpa Knew Him.. But Did He?

When my Grandpa first met this priest, he had heard from his girlfriend about what this man was doing. He didn’t really know his name, until she told him. The man, who became my Grandpa’s 2nd Priest he ever beat “the hell out of”- (He had beaten the hell out of 5 Priests in his life- I know the context of two, not the other three). Grandpa’s “violence” was out of love, nothing more and nothing less.

The man, hadn’t really heard of my grandpa, though in Grandpa’s 170 page story of Alisha, he says, that when he walked into the Cathedral for the first time, the Priest knew him by his name, which I understood, because this Priest had been “stalking” Alisha, from a distant and would follow her, and would see my grandpa kiss her and of course, the Priest got jealous and started trying to imagine what it would be if he were with her.

But, my grandpa, when he beat the hell out of him the first time, it was an “epic” battle, literally a battle. If you read in the story of Alisha, you’ll see. It may seem “made up-” but having “seen it” — it happened the way he said it did.

With this- the Priest told my grandpa that he would not relent until the “girl” (Alisha) was his. My grandpa- hence hated him, and he knew what his true intentions were with Alisha were, and they were not exactly “Catholic”.

Who Was Alisha Anyways?

“Alisha” was my grandpa’s first girlfriend, or at least that’s the first girlfriend I was aware of. Alisha was a year older than my grandpa, and was from Fort Worth, where my grandpa was raised. She was a beauty and from the only photos we have of her, she really was. She was gorgeous and the way my grandpa described her, she was just his type.

She was abused- in everyway possible: sexually and physically. She had to get out of Fort Worth and my grandpa’s family helped her get out of town. She ended up at a Millionaire Widow’s home and became a part of her family.

The family adored her.

On June 17, 1948, she went “missing”. She was murdered by the Priest and was disposed on the side of the road. A man found her a few days later and was brought to the morgue. She was sent back to Fort Worth on June 20, 1948, and on the 24th, my grandpa found out about her death and was devastated . My grandpa did not fill out a death certificate for her, not that I’m aware of.

But, he had her cremated and he spread her ashes across the state of TX, as it was her dream to “see the world!”

She had big plans to Europe, but she never made it to Europe.

Grandpa handled her death to the best of his ability, as he married a woman a few years later, and married her till the day they both passed. There were days where he would have to get out of the house and he would cry and I think he thought about her. He once told me, “You never forget your first love.” I think he was right, cause in the back of his mind, he did think about her, and often enough, but it wasn’t until I was 14, when I knew who she was for the first time, but had forgotten about her until last year, when I discovered the story he had written on her.

He told me he needed to “Get her out of his system” and I knew what he meant.

WHY DIDN’T HE TURN IN THE MAN WHO KILLED HER?

He wasn’t there when she was murdered and he didn’t see the man who killed her until 1953. He was going to kill him, but he didn’t. So, why didn’t he turn him in for muder?

  1. Alisha had been dead since 1948, and it was then 1953
  2. Grandpa had already cremated her, so there was no body to produce
  3. The Catholic Church would have covered it up and would have protected the guy
  4. The Guy turned himself in and preached for another two-three years.

Grandpa would have done everything he could to get justice for his girl, but he knew that the Catholic Church would do everything they could to make sure their precious priest was protected, even if that did cost the life of a girl.

Sometimes I wondered, if her death would have been handled differently, what would have occured and what could have been known about her?

The Girl in the Story- is a novel based on this story.
