The Whole Issue
There has been a horrible debate. This time, Anne Frank is invovled, Anne is always involved. This time, stupid, uneducated people are saying that Anne Frank “had white privilege.” WHAT?
Yes, she’s white, but that doesn’t mean she had privilege. The whole issue about her having White Privilege is just absurd. First off, history lesson about Anne Frank. She was Jewish and Jews in the 1930’s and 40’s, were not considered white. They were considered a whole different race, and they were considered sub human. That’s what they were, there’s no way around it.
I have argued till I’m blue in the face. For someone who has studied the Holocaust and the Frank family for years, and I do mean year, they were considered a sub human family. The worst part of it is that people actually are starting to believe this.
It’s like saying that all Jews, the majority of them white, had Privilege, which they didn’t. Tomas Kulka, who was WHITE and MALE, did not have this kind of Privilege. They were just Jewish scum to the Germans, who thought of the Jews as nothing.
Please note this:
When the Holocaust began, the Jews were considered sub-humans. They were not treated as equal and in some parts of the world, we still aren’t.
Petr Ginz (1928–1944), also WHITE and MALE, was killed. He was killed not because of his color, but because of his beliefs. He was Jewish also.
To those saying that they all had white Privilege, they didn’t. If they did, they’d be alive. They all died in camps. Anne in Belsen, Tomas in Sobibor, and Petr at Auschwitz. They were all dead before they reached the age of eighteen.
They were all white and they would be considered to have Privilege in America, but not in Europe. That works a little differently.
In Europe, the population is seen as white, but that doesn’t mean it’s always the same kind of white as it is in the United States.
As a Jew, I am frustrated by this. It’s uncanny that idiots on twitter have to make this arguement and drag Anne through the mud.
