Why I’ve Walked Away ….
God. Jesus. Rights.
Being an American Jew is kinda difficult at the moment. The rights of women were just stripped away, and as a Jewish woman, the right to healthcare is vital to the mother, but I guess no one cares about what a person who isn’t CHRISTIAN, her rights are?
But to me, I’ve never really been a religious person. I am a reform Jew, and to be honest, you’ll find me in Temple, but you won’t find me reading Torah , or even the Bible.
You won’t see me reading it. Why? Because it’s the Bible has been misconstrued into something so HATEFUL. If you don’t believe me, I’ll give you some examples.
LGBTQ RIGHTS
First off, I HATE when Christians try to tell the LGBTQ that they are sinful and they will be going to hell. How about YOU going to hell for telling someone that? If your JESUS is FOR LOVE — Remember the whole “LOVE THY NEIGHBOR” Thing? Yeah, that did not say “WITH EXCEPTION”- so do me a favor and ACTUALLY LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR — REGARDLESS OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION. It’s the right thing to do. As a Jew, the thing we do, is live by Jewish law. To me, as a Jewish woman, we seem to be more open to LGBTQ people than Christians ever will be.
I remember when I went to church with my very and I do mean very religious friend (for shits and giggles). Yes the singing they did was a little obnoxious I will admit, but it was the preacher who really made me very mad. They were talking about how the Gays were ‘grooming’ children and we must lead them back to Jesus. That’s when I stood up and said “You need to stop spreading hate now!” He looked at me in surprise, like a church goer wouldn’t stand up to a preacher. I told him that there was so many people like Him who were abusing children and gays don’t do that, they want to be loved and accepted and how he should feel ashamed. I said from what I know about Jesus, he preached about LOVE, not about HATRED, and I told him to simply go to hell and fuck off and I left and drove home. I stay within the Jewish community, as they seem to read passages in the Torah that seem to be accepting.
I am so DONE with these so CHRISTIANS who think that they RULE the DAMN EARTH, because I assure you they DO NOT.
As someone who had a gay uncle, I didn’t care if he was gay or not.
I was someone who really didn’t mind the LGBTQ community and I still don’t. IT DOESN’T BOTHER ME. WHY would someone’s sexual preference AFFECT YOU? IT DOES NOT, I CAN ASSURE YOU.
So LEAVE THEM ALONE. Let them LIVE and LOVE who they WANT! Let the Trans be WHO THEY WANT TO BE. I want these politicians to STOP making these laws against them.
It is annoying.
ABORTION
As a Jewish woman, Abortion is a RIGHT, especially when the woman’s life is in critical danger. Now that America has become a SHIT SHOW, WHO DO NOT CARE ABOUT JEWISH WOMEN’S RIGHTS, are going to make it hard for me to have a baby. I want children. As a Jew, children are really important. But if I have a complication with my pregnancy, or if the child is dead, I can’t do anything about it. I hope that -if I do get pregnant, and I have complications, what am I to do? I want to have a family, but if my body can’t handle it, I guess I’ll just die????
This is weird and I’m so tired of DAMN CHRISTIANS AGAIN , PUTTING THEIR BELIEFS AND NEEDS FIRST. THERE ARE JEWS, MUSLIMS AND HINDUS AND OTHER RELIGIONS LIVING IN THE STATES YOU ASSHOLES and NO I will not apologize that. IT IS PEOPLE LIKE YOU — WHO ARE HOLDING US BACK.
I’m exhausted by these RELIGIOUS NUTS. I’m so tired of this.
As a Jewish woman, I know we are not perfect, but at least we have the decency to respect other people (depending on who you ask! )
But I’ve had to walk away from people who actually believe this.
As a Jewish woman, please think of other women and other religions when making your assumptions. NOT EVERYONE LOVES JESUS.
As a Jewish woman, Jesus has been misconstrued into so many different things, other than what he’s meant to represent. He’s suppose to represent LOVE, ACCEPTANCE and among other things. But Christians have this VIEW of him that is so gross and so off putting. First, they shove their religion down people’s throats, you don’t see Jews doing that? I don’t think you see Islamic or Muslim people doing that?
The fight for our rights is not ever, but CHRISTIANS DO US A FAVOR. SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP and LET JEWISH PEOPLE HAVE THEIR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.
